Valve Index VR HMD

While maybe not the best device out there and certainly not the cheapest, I still chose the Index because of its official compatibility with Linux. Did I regret it? Not one freaking second!

Ok, admittedly I did not compare the headset with other VR headsets and there are situations where it does not perform the same on my Ubuntu as on my Windows system. But still I’m enough of a Linux fanatic to prefer booting into Linux and dealing with the few kinks there are.

Of all the hardware I own, this is probably the most complex to set up. But it’s mostly the same effort as on Windows, if you got a good tutorial to guide you through the steps to be done on Linux.
