Logitech G15 Gaming Keyboard

Definitely my oldest piece of hardware still working: my precious G15 model from the early 2000s. Given the age of this keyboard, it is no wonder this “just works” after installing a few additional packages.

G-keys on the left should work out of the box and the same holds true for the media keys left and right of the display.

Software Installation

apt install g15daemon

With that package installed the display awakens and shows a clock that can be modified via the buttons below the screen.

Summary

Admitted it is a far stretch from what could be done with this keyboard with the help of the original Windows utility. But apparently this keyboard has not been as common with linux users in the olden days to have more volunteers develop more functionality. For a keyboard that nears its 20th year of age I’m pretty impressed that it actually still works at all - quality back then was really superior.
